Trex Building 6 is a manufacturing facility housing decking lines for Trex Company on their 71-acre Winchester, Virginia campus. Shockey built a 188,000 SF facility of precast wall panels on a conventional steel-framed structure with a low-sloped EPDM roofing system.
To accommodate the equipment installations required for specific manufacturing operations, a steel superstructure extends above the majority of the roofing system. The facility includes seven traditional loading docks for shipping and receiving, as well as 10 wood chip receiving docks.
To support the work force, Shockey constructed 7,000 SF of office space on a second floor mezzanine which sits above a break room, restrooms, and locker rooms. Improving campus logistics for shipping and receiving materials, the site improvements include a new loop road and scale. Additional lanes permit more tarping capacity for the company’s shipping operation.
Employee parking supports the new facility and adjacent buildings.
