The Berkeley Business Park II project comprises construction of a new, 404,000 SF warehouse facility which sits beside an existing warehouse at Berkeley Business Park.
The building is a steel-frame structure with reinforced concrete tilt-up exterior walls and a concrete slab-on-grade. Shockey built the warehouse with 32 ft. ceilings, dock doors, a trailer court area, sprinkler and monitored fire alarm.
The building envelope is designed in compliance with current energy standards, which require higher insulation values than older buildings. LED lighting, occupancy sensor switching controls, and daylight-providing clerestory windows further reduce energy consumption.
Saving time compared to manual loading dock systems, an individual control system provides power and control to each dock’s leveler, door, lighting, and restraint. An ESFR sprinkler system, specifically designed for maximum protection for warehousing operations, is provided throughout the space to accommodate the storage and handling of a wide range of commodities.
