Toray Plastics I + II

Phase I of Shockey’s work for Toray included design and expansion of an existing manufacturing facility, along with associated survey and subsurface work. Phase II was comprised of design, construction and integration of a new manufacturing building into the existing facility in Front Royal, VA, allowing the owner to handle the addition of a new foaming line and supporting irradiation line. The new product lines necessitated a warehouse, air remediation scrubber and molten salt recovery system. All items were integrated into the current factory without unnecessary downtime or impact to existing operations.

The Toraypef® Olefin Foams Division in Front Royal represents the only U.S. manufacturer of precision-performance polyester, polypropylene, metallized and bio-based films. It produces film for flexible and rigid packaging, lidding, industrial, optical, graphic and electronic applications. The Toraypef Division is a leading supplier to the automotive and flooring industries.
