Under Construction: Halifax County HS

Shockey has been chosen to construct the new Halifax County High School, a replacement high school, close to the site of the current high school structure off Old Halifax Road in South Boston.

Designed by Grimm + Parker Architects, the facility will feature a multi-story, V-wing classroom building, auditorium and performance spaces, 2,500-seat gymnasium and auxiliary gym, large CTE workspaces, and a cafeteria at the building’s core.

Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is serving as Construction Manager At Risk for the new school. Construction begins in late June and the project is targeting a fall 2025 completion.
