      In Progress: Dranesville ESShockey has been awarded the contract to complete an addition and renovation project at Dranesville Elementary School that will provide modern amenities for students and staff, beginning with a main corridor expansion and relocation of the main office. Shockey will also build a new cafeteria, new classrooms, a new library, and renovate and expand the gymnasium.
The 88,776-SF Fairfax County school will expand to 117,361 SF for an expected capacity of 1000 students.The project includes the renovation of an existing two-story sprinklered education building and will include a complete gut renewal and modernization to meet current educational standards and technology. 
The work will be completed in phases in order to allow students and staff to occupy the existing building during construction. 
The new school building has been designed with CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools) criteria, and construction is scheduled for completion in Winter 2026.
