Roanoke Police Academy
Shockey first built a 28,000 SF police academy for Roanoke City, then later added a 8,300 SF wing for Roanoke County. The shared-use facility includes classrooms, training spaces, an indoor aquatic center where officers practice water safety and rescue, and a simulator room that provides virtual lethal force scenarios. The design-build project was procured through Virginia’s Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act. Certified LEED® by the US Green Building Council.
