New Horizons Healthcare

New Horizons Healthcare is a federally-qualified health care provider serving the Roanoke area. The not-for-profit community based family health center provides uninsured, under-insured, and insured patients with high-quality, comprehensive and preventive healthcare.

Shockey built a new two-level medical center building that encompasses areas for family practice, pediatric care, and a pharmacy. The new building is designed to minimize heating and cooling operational expenses. The space also features a meeting room that can be subdivided as needed, along with a catering kitchen and storage rooms.

New Horizons also supports a mental health services program that was added as part of an integrated model of care, with a focus on treating the whole person. In 2014, New Horizons expanded its services by opening a much-needed dental clinic.
