Senior Living

The Hermitage at Cedarfield

Shockey continues to expand The Hermitage at Cedarfield senior living community by renovating 75,800 SF and building 131,000 SF of new space. The five-phased project in Richmond kicked off with upgrades and expansions to Cedarfield’s dining center, which just opened to residents. The 26,000 SF space was transformed into three separate areas to provide residents with more dining choices.

A luxurious 18,000 SF health and wellness center is being built in the main courtyard, close to independent living apartments and the new dining areas. The wellness center includes two swimming pools, a fitness center, and studios for yoga, dance, and Pilates.

Shockey is also performing renovations to an existing pedestrian bridge, renovating the physical and occupational therapy spaces, and renovating and expanding the memory support and skilled care areas at the occupied community. A new apartment building with structured parking on the lowest level is also underway.

All construction activities have been planned in phases and closely coordinated with the community’s residential events and activities.

Cedarfield offers a full continuum of choices for residents, from independent living to assisted living to specialized memory support and full healthcare. Each resident is an active participant in the team that initially assesses and continually monitors his or her level of living.
