The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute continues to advance neuroscience and improve the lives of people with neurological and mental health conditions. Recent breakthroughs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and addiction caught the attention of producers of the iconic CBS News program, 60 Minutes, which filmed and aired a segment about the exploration of new frontiers in the treatment of brain diseases and disorders. City officials joined the Richmond Police Department in breaking ground for the new First Precinct No 1 location, a major new investment in the east end of Richmond. With RRMM Architects

Shockey’s work with National Lutheran Communities & Services progresses as the team builds The Village at Providence Point, a new Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Annapolis, Maryland. The City of Staunton officially breaks ground on the new Staunton Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courthouse (J&DR Court). “This is a signature project for the City of Staunton…and is one of the city’s largest projects in decades,” said City Manager Leslie Beauregard. A new 211,000-square-foot middle school is built in record time for Loudoun County, even when everyone said “it couldn’t be done.“ With an anticipated capacity of 1,445 students, the brand-new four-story school includes classrooms, a media center, a cafeteria, an auditorium, main and auxiliary gyms, and athletic fields. A celebratory topping-out ceremony marks big progress on the construction of the new Halifax County High School in southern Virginia. Residents are invited to sign their names on that last piece of steel as a way of taking part in the excitement of the new school, scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. Shenandoah University re-opens the completely transformed historic Hazel-Pruitt Armory building as the Hub for Innovators, Veterans, and Entrepreneurs (HIVE). The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, a longtime repeat client, is honored with an AIA 2024 Design Award for a series of projects that enhance placemaking on the grounds of the museum. A new gateway project built for Fairfax County, the Monument Drive Commuter Parking Garage and Transit Center is honored with its third award, this time for “2024 Best of Buildings: Build-to-Suit Public Award of Excellence” from NAIOP.
