Wellness

Therapy + Fitness Space

Pools offer vital low-impact exercise space for seniors. Proven to promote pain relief and improved flexibility, an indoor pool’s warm water also provides a gentle weight-supported environment for a circulation-boosting workout.

The second construction phase at The Village at Orchard Ridge (TVOR) includes such a pool in a wellness addition with fitness and therapy areas. Shockey also built additional cottages, skilled nursing beds, and independent living units; a roadway and utilities; and a dining addition.

At the request of the owner, TVOR projects were turned over in phases, with its first set of cottages and common area delivered two months ahead of the other project components. Constant, open communication between the team members and stakeholders involved have made for numerous recorded successes thus far.

In this ongoing project, the Shockey team takes the lead in keeping information flowing to the right parties. In multi-phased projects like this one, the construction plan and the construction team must show flexibility in order to allow for proper response to the inevitable changes or constraints that will be encountered.
