Mental health is health. Valley Health celebrated the start of construction of its new Behavioral & Mental Health Pavilion during the month of May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.
The Behavioral Health Pavilion promises to transform mental healthcare in the region for both adults and young people. The 26,200 SF, single story outpatient facility will be located at Winchester Medical Center, and will offer therapy, support groups, crisis care, and more — all under one roof. The structure will be more than a building; it’s a commitment to healing, hope, and a healthier future for all.
The Behavioral Health Service Pavilion is located on the hospital’s campus near the emergency department. Plans call for it to house outpatient, crisis, and therapy services for patients with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Future plans include geriatric programs with memory care and support for patients coping with ongoing medical conditions.
Shockey, along with architect Kahler Slater, will complete the project in late 2026.
