Shockey, one of the mid-Atlantic region’s largest and most respected general contractors, has added a new Maryland office in response to its thriving workload in the metropolitan market.
The new office, located at 5111 Pegasus Court in Frederick, will support the company’s long-term focus on serving its core markets — primarily education, industrial, healthcare, public sector, and senior living clients.
We look forward to serving our growing roster of Maryland clients from this new office. Frederick is a vibrant community with an appealing historic district and an innovative technology cluster along the fast-growing 270 Tech Corridor,” said Shockey President Jeff Boehm. “Like Shockey, it is growing rapidly, while preserving the culture that makes it great.”
In Annapolis, Shockey is currently serving as the construction manager for a new Life Plan Community called The Village at Providence Point in coordination with architects Perkins Eastman (Washington, DC) and ARCH Consultants (Chicago). Owned and developed by National Lutheran Communities & Services of Rockville, Providence Point is poised to become Maryland’s newest continuing-care retirement community. Slated to include 246 independent living units — 216 apartments and 30 duplex cottages — the campus will also feature a healthcare center with 16 assisted living memory support units and 16 skilled nursing beds.
Recently, the firm completed The Glenmere Independent Living apartment building in Rockville, winning an “Award of Merit” in the Hospitality category from Engineering News-Record. The project contained two residential towers with 130 independent living apartments in mixed configurations, along with an aquatic and wellness center and underground parking.
