Designed around a village green, The Village at Orchard Ridge (TVOR) offers a full range of independent living cottage homes and apartments with home-based assisted services, memory care assisted living, nursing care options, and short-term rehabilitation. The CCRC incorporates renewable energy sources such as geothermal energy and LEED® certified cottages.
At the request of the owner, this project has been turned over in phases, with the cottages and common area delivered two months ahead of the other project components. The recorded successes in the completed phases — and in the work currently in progress — are a direct result of constant, open communication between the many team members and stakeholders involved in TVOR.
The latest phases included additional cottages, skilled nursing beds, and independent living units; roadway and utilities; a dining addition; and a wellness addition with an indoor pool, fitness, and therapy areas.
Shockey takes the lead in keeping information continuously flowing to the right parties. In multi-phased projects like this one, both the construction team and the construction plan must be flexible in order to allow for proper response to the inevitable changes or constraints that are encountered.
