Powhatan School

Powhatan School, an independent PK-8 Day School in Boyce, VA, broke ground on the renovation of its Niemann auditorium late in the summer of 2025. Students stepped into a new, improved theater in the spring of 2026.

Upgrades for the auditorium, provided by our Partner Services team, include a welcoming new lobby space, downstairs restroom, rebuilt “original” stage, increased seating capacity with built-in and flexible seating, advanced sound and lighting technology, renovated dressing rooms, and additional storage.

Partner Services has provided space for the school’s weekly gatherings, eighth-grade chapel talks, community connections, and beloved class plays.

“It’s where our students grow, learn, and gain confidence every day,” said Head of School Carson Roy.

Established in 1948, Powhatan School is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. It serves families in Clarke, Frederick, Loudoun and Warren counties and the Winchester City School district in Virginia, as well as West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle.
