ODC Renovations

Modern healthcare imaging is always evolving, and the Outpatient Diagnostic Center (ODC) at Winchester Medical Center recently received 5,370-SF of full renovations and replacement machines for several vital imaging services. The finished spaces offer patients easy access to a wide variety of screenings.

As construction manager, Shockey fully renovated and installed new equipment for a PET CT Suite, additional Mammography services, and MRI space, as well as support spaces for the PET CT and MRI.

Advanced technology helps healthcare providers diagnose illnesses, evaluate injuries, and guide medical procedures. Just like X-rays, a CT (Computed Tomography) is quick and uses radiation to acquire its images. An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) uses a powerful magnet and radio waves to create detailed images of organs and other structures inside of the body. A PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan is used to see metabolism within the body; it involves injecting a very small dose of a radioactive substance through an IV line to show unusual cellular activity.

The WMC Diagnostic Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and is a Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) certified facility.
