Hampshire Memorial Hospital serves as a critical-access care facility for those in need in this rural community in West Virginia. The old hospital had served Hampshire County and the region since 1959.
Shockey built a new 63,930 SF facility that created more emergency department space, a medical imaging department and a laboratory, and increased outpatient post- and pre-operation bays. The replacement hospital has 14 acute-care beds and 30 long-term beds, and is certified LEED® Silver by the US Green Building Council.
Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. also served as the general contractor on a 24,891 SF medical building, connected to Hampshire Memorial, that includes a Rural Health Clinic and administration offices.
