      Sussex II State PrisonWith a long track record of working with both state agencies and criminal justice facilities, Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. completed upgrades for Sussex II State Prison in Waverly for the Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC). 
Shockey installed a new commercial laundry facility for the prison, modernized the fire compression system, and improved security for the Level Four facility. 
The project required BCOM review. BCOM, a division of the Virginia Department of General Services, is a review agency that oversees construction and capital outlay programs for all agencies of the Commonwealth.
