RICHMOND, Va. — Driven by regional growth in the Central Virginia market, Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is relocating and expanding its offices in the Richmond market. The new office in the city’s west end gives Shockey a larger, more centralized location to manage all of its expanding projects across the area.
Shockey President Jeff Boehm says the move “strengthens and redefines the company’s longstanding commitment to the region.”
In 2022, the privately held company was selected among the “Top 200 Contractors” in the USA by Building Design+Construction magazine.
A leader in the construction industry for more than a century, Shockey provides public-private partnership, design-build, general contracting, at-risk construction management, agency construction management, preconstruction, and turnkey development services.
Shockey maintains an excellent safety record, including a STEP Platinum rating from Associated Builders and Contractors.
The company primarily serves clients in the education, healthcare, senior living, commercial, parking, manufacturing, and industrial markets. Current projects range in size from $1 million to $150 million and the firm has a bonding limit of $400 million. Clients are located throughout Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. The firm is also licensed in North Carolina.
Shockey’s new office is located at 7231 Forest Avenue in Henrico County, VA. Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer handled the leasing arrangements.
