Every year, construction industry organizations and trade industry publications administer a series of detailed surveys to large general contractors across the country. These surveys compile and rank the top general contractors by revenue. In 2022, we are pleased to report that Shockey has been honored with a record number of appearances on these lists, including the prestigious ENR and BD+C rankings.
“Shockey’s talented team continues to grow its core business by focusing on work we do well. Being recognized as industry leaders across the breadth of our markets is a real honor. Delivering a happy client, however, will forever remain the goal of the work we do every day — as service providers, happy clients are our lifeblood,” says Shockey President Jeff Boehm.
- For Building Design + Construction (BD+C) magazine, Shockey ranks among the USA’s Top 200 Contractors. Shockey is also listed on the Top 100 K-12 School Contractors and CM Firms, the Top 110 Industrial Sector Contractors, and also landed spots on the Healthcare Giants Sector Report as well as the Top 50 Senior Living Facility Contractors.
- Shockey is ranked on both the “Top 200 Performers” and the “Top 125 General Contractors” lists by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), which recognizes contractors’ achievements in safety, quality, inclusion, diversity and equity, and project excellence.
- Shockey garnered a spot on ENR MidAtlantic’s list of 2022 Top Contractors.
- In Virginia Business magazine’s annual BIG BOOK compendium, Shockey is ranked among the Commonwealth’s Largest General Contractors and Largest Private Companies.
“These last few years have tested the resiliency and resourcefulness of the construction industry as a whole, and I’m extremely proud of the way our team has risen to the challenge for our customers,” says Boehm.
Shockey continues to serve clients in its legacy markets in the Shenandoah Valley and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. To the south, Shockey is forging ahead with large projects in Richmond and Southside Virginia. Meanwhile, the company’s planned growth in the DC Metro area is also accelerating. Shockey is currently building across Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford, and Loudoun counties. This robust expansion is also taking the Shockey team further into suburban Maryland, with new projects in Baltimore and Annapolis.
