5 New Class A Industrial Buildings Under Construction in Greater Richmond Region

Construction is moving briskly ahead on the Matan Company’s Northlake II project, a five-building Class A Industrial development project in Ashland, Virginia (approximately 15 miles north of Richmond on the I-95 corridor).

The five-building development will be completed in two phases, which are being built concurrently. Phase 1 will offer 345,000 SF of new space across three buildings, and Phase 2 will offer an additional 655,000 SF across two buildings. Both phases are slated for delivery in 2022.

The Hanover County Economic Development Authority has listed this industrial park as a prime location for warehouse and logistics, pharmaceutical, food and beverage production, and light manufacturing and assembly operations.

All buildings will feature 32-foot ceiling clearance heights, dock-high doors, and trailer drop areas.

Privately-held Matan Companies is headquartered in Frederick, Maryland. General contractor Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. has offices in Winchester and Richmond. Richmond-based Timmons Group is the engineering lead on the project. Powers Brown Architecture, based in Falls Church, is the architect. JLL is handling marketing and leasing for the buildings.
