Navy Federal Credit Union / Frederick County, Va.
New parking structure, 1607 spaces (2018)
To meet the needs of NFCU’s rapidly growing Winchester Operations Center, Shockey constructed a new five-level parking deck with 1607 new spaces in just eight months. We worked closely with key team members J3 Design Collective, the Shockey Precast Group, and others to expedite every aspect of the project — resulting in a 521,000 SF project that was delivered on budget, and on schedule.
It was critical that NFCU meet its deadline of having a new parking deck designed, permitted, and constructed — all within a year. One Loudoun / Ashburn, Va.
New parking structure, 791 spaces (2015)
New parking structure, 449 spaces (2018)
Delivered in just seven months, Shockey constructed the first deck of 791 spaces with four structured levels and one on-grade level for developer Miller & Smith in 2015. The bold and playful architecture of the award-winning project meaningfully contributed to the upscale, high-energy mixed-use community it supported. The One Loudoun development continued to grow quickly, and within a few years Shockey was hired to build a second parking deck of 449 spaces for Retail Properties of America, which purchased One Loudoun’s downtown from Miller & Smith in 2016.

Arlington Trades Center / Arlington County, Va.
Parking deck expansion, 164 spaces (2018)
For Arlington County, Shockey expanded an existing parking structure by adding a third parking level to accommodate 164 vehicles. The structure is located on a busy campus, with just one main road for traffic. Early in the process, Shockey suggested a change to the project’s anticipated construction and equipment staging, which resulted in a dramatically-earlier project finish.
Shockey proposed a construction solution that alleviated traffic restrictions on the main Trade Center Road to the upper portion of campus, eliminating the need to move the crane twice. Shockey then delivered the project three months ahead of schedule! They were very professional to work with, didn’t initiate change orders, and provided Arlington County with early beneficial occupancy of the third level deck before winter started — exactly what the County wanted. — Jesse Almario, P.E., Arlington County
