FRONT ROYAL, Virginia (September 19, 2016)—On September 15th, company executives held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the $45 million expansion of their advanced manufacturing facility in Northern Virginia.
The 58,300 square-foot expansion will add extrusion capability and a new foam production line, which will be integrated into the current factory. The construction of the new addition will not impact existing operations.
The contractor is Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc., and the architect is Design Concepts. The project is being delivered as a design-build partnership, and is targeting a February 2017 completion date.
Toray Plastics (America) is a subsidiary of Toray Industries, Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The multi-national company manufactures plastic automotive interior trim components as well as high-performance films, synthetic fibers and textiles, carbon fibers, plastics, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The company has operated in Warren County since 1997, and this expansion is expected to create 30 new jobs.
