$30M Replacement Hospital Opens June 4 | Winchester Star

Romney, WV – The old­est county in the state now has a modern hospital to re­place its aging facility. Officials from Hamp­shire Memorial Hospital, which has served Hamp­shire County and the region since 1959, gathered Thurs­day with Valley Health Sys­tem leaders at 363 Sunrise Blvd. for the dedication of the $30 million, 63,930­ square-foot facility. rn

Hampshire Memorial is one of six in the Valley Health System, which also includes Winchester Medi­cal Center. All of the facili­ties are in Virginia and West Virginia. Connected to Hampshire Memorial is a 24,891­ square- foot medical build­ing that includes a Rural Health Clinic and adminis­tration offices.rnrnHoward Shockey & Sons, Inc. served as the general contractor on the project.
