Romney, WV – The oldest county in the state now has a modern hospital to replace its aging facility. Officials from Hampshire Memorial Hospital, which has served Hampshire County and the region since 1959, gathered Thursday with Valley Health System leaders at 363 Sunrise Blvd. for the dedication of the $30 million, 63,930 square-foot facility. rn

Hampshire Memorial is one of six in the Valley Health System, which also includes Winchester Medical Center. All of the facilities are in Virginia and West Virginia. Connected to Hampshire Memorial is a 24,891 square- foot medical building that includes a Rural Health Clinic and administration offices.rnrnHoward Shockey & Sons, Inc. served as the general contractor on the project.
