6565 Arlington Blvd Parking Garage

Shockey led a design-build team to construct a new parking garage at 6565 Arlington Boulevard, part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the five-acre site.

Located in the midst of a bustling and diverse area along Arlington Boulevard, the new six-and-a-half story parking garage provides 550 spaces. The 153,000 SF infill structure was built on an existing surface parking lot.

An affiliate company, Shockey Precast, manufactured all the garage’s precast concrete elements off-site, then transported them to the site to accelerate delivery. Architectural perforated metal panels were installed on two elevations to add distinction to the structure.

On a fast-track schedule, Shockey started preconstruction services late in 2016; site work began in January 2017, and the team completed construction by summer.
