FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA – Winchester-based Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is leading a design-build team to construct a new parking garage at 6565 Arlington Boulevard, part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan for the five-acre site.
Located in the midst of a bustling and diverse area along Arlington Boulevard, the new six-and-a-half story parking garage will provide 550 spaces.
The 153,000 square-foot infill structure is being built on an existing surface parking lot.
Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is the design-builder. An affiliate company, the Shockey Precast Group, is manufacturing all the parking garage’s precast concrete elements off-site, then transporting them to the site to accelerate the delivery of the parking garage.
Shockey started pre-construction services in 2016; site work began in January 2017, and the team is targeting a summer completion date.
