Madison’s Trust Elementary School (ES-27) Opens

ASHBURN, VIRGINIA  (August 29, 2016) – One of the state’s fastest-growing counties, Loudoun County, opened a new elementary school this fall to keep up with its growing student enrollment.  Madison’s Trust opened this fall with 781 students, and will ultimately be able to support a capacity of 928 students.

Madison’s Trust Elementary School (ES-27) opened at the start of the 2016-17 academic year and serves the Brambleton neighborhood. The two-story school, offering 105,757 square-feet, serves students in kindergarten through grade 5. The design is an adaptation of Loudoun’s K-5 elementary prototype.

The elementary school includes classrooms, a media center, cafeteria, multipurpose room and two unlighted outdoor physical education fields. The building’s architectural inspiration is founded upon a classic brick façade highlighted by a welcoming main entry canopy. One of the architectural highlights is a glass enclosed media center that will serve as a hub for students to access literature and technology. The media center opens onto a landscaped courtyard where students and teachers can embrace education outside of the traditional classroom setting. Classrooms receive plenty of natural daylight, as they overlook the central interior courtyard and line the building’s perimeter.

The facility achieved an “Energy Star Certification” by the Environmental Protection Agency and the school is on track to be certified by the Virginia Collaborative for High Performance Schools.
