FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. — Kingspan Insulation, a subsidiary of Ireland-based Kingspan Group plc, is investing $25 million into its recently acquired Frederick County facility following a period of double-digit sales growth across North America.
The upgrades are being made to the manufacturing plant off Martinsburg Pike (U.S. 11) near the Interstate 81 interchange. The company plans to add 15 jobs, buy equipment and upgrade the facility. Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc., of Winchester, is the general contractor.
Ed Bates, a director of manufacturing and technology at Kingspan, previously told The Star that while the company has other facilities in North America and around the world, the Frederick County plant is Kingspan’s only facility in the U.S. that makes building wraps and insulation.
