Assisted Living Center Opens in Rockville

ROCKVILLE, Md. —  The Village at Rockville (TVAR), a National Lutheran Community unveiled 18 private assisted living apartments on Tuesday, March 26, in an opening celebration. Guests gathered to herald the long-awaited addition of assisted living to TVAR’s campus with celebratory toasts, remarks and a ribbon cutting. Tours of the new wing were offered throughout the evening to showcase the various floor plans and layouts, along with available services and amenities.

Over the past year, TVAR has had a lot of firsts. From the very first completed, renovated wing in February 2012 to new dining venues in October 2012, this added service of assisted living represents the first time it has ever been offered on TVAR’s campus.

Virginia-based general contractor Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is overseeing the transformations to improve the 32-year-old building’s aesthetics and functionality.
