ROCKVILLE, Md. – National Lutheran Communities & Services, based in Rockville, Md., has partnered with Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc., of Winchester, Va., to complete renovations at its flagship 30-acre senior living campus.rnrnThe Village at Rockville (TVAR) is a continuing care retirement community that offers residential living, rehabilitation, respite and extended nursing care. Shockey will complete TVAR’s renovations (featuring 94 extended nursing care rooms, 66 short-term rehabilitation rooms and 50 assisted living and memory care suites.) rnrnConstruction costs are approximately $23 million and will also include office and common areas, along with dining spaces, taking three years to complete. rnrnShockey has also partnered with TVAR’s sister community, The Village at Orchard Ridge (TVOR) in Winchester, Virginia. Phase 1 of the Winchester project is well underway; it includes 178 maintenance-free independent living cottage homes and apartments with home-based services, memory care, assisted living and nursing care options.
