It was a remarkable year, and we’d like to briefly acknowledge just a few highlights from the past 12 months.
January
Hovatter School wins national ENERGY STAR® Award
This elementary school project in Loudoun County won a national ENERGY STAR® Award with a perfect score of 100. Nationally, four K12 projects were chosen for honors — and two of the four winning projects were built by Shockey. The other Shockey project is the Elaine E. Thompson Elementary School.

Valley Logistics breaks ground
With partners The Peterson Companies and JLL, Shockey began work at this 145-acre site. When completed, Valley Logistics will offer nearly 2 million SF of logistics space in multiple buildings serving the DC Metro region, and will be home to the largest industrial building — at 1.4M SF — along the Interstate-81 corridor.

What defines the best of the best? Monument Commuter & Transit Center rises up along I-66
Located in Fairfax County, this multi-modal transit center includes eight levels of structured parking, a bus transit center, pick up and drop off for ride-sharing, and indoor and outdoor bicycle storage. Solar panels on the roof will power the facility.

Shockey to build new senior living campus for NLCS in Annapolis
Developed by National Lutheran Communities & Services (NLCS), the Village at Providence Point CCRC is slated to include 272 independent living apartments and 30 cottages, along with 48 health care suites. Of the 175-acre site, approximately 124 acres will be preserved in perpetuity.
