Loudoun County Approves Plans for New Middle School | American School & University

LEESBURG, Va. — The Loudoun County School Board has approved construction of a $110.7 million middle school.

Currently called MS-14, this will be a new middle school on the 173-acre Hartland property along Red Hill Road, south of Leesburg. The campus will alleviate crowding at the district’s Dulles North area middle school — in particular the Brambleton Middle School in Ashburn, where enrollment exceeded capacity by 23% last fall. Brambleton Middle’s capacity is 1,445 students and had 1,631 enrolled in fall 2021. Student numbers for 2022-23 are projected to be 1,779.

Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is the construction manager. Stantec Architecture is the designer.

The new middle school is scheduled to open fall 2024.
