Winchester, Va. — This month, General Contractors Magazine announced the “Best Doctor’s Office Contractors in the US” and named Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. as one of the best medical builders in the country.
According to the article, the companies honored on the list were chosen based decades of experience in the healthcare construction industry, as well as with specialized clinics, outpatient centers, and medical office buildings.

Featured in the article is Hampshire Memorial Hospital, built for Valley Health in Romney, West Virginia. The hospital, designed by Perkins+Will Architects, serves as a critical-access care facility for a rural community. The 64,000-square-foot facility features an emergency department space, a medical imaging department and laboratory, and increased outpatient post- and pre-operation bays. Shockey also built the the 25,000-square-foot medical building that is connected to Hampshire Memorial. The project is certified LEED Silver by the USGBC.
