Glenmere Independent Living To Open in 2020 at The Village at Rockville

Rockville, Md. — We are pleased to announce that the Glenmere project at The Village at Rockville is on track to open to residents in the fall of 2020.

The Glenmere Expansion at The Village at Rockville—A National Lutheran Community (TVAR) is being built on five acres within the original community’s existing 31-acre footprint.

The approximately $95 million expansion includes 130 one- and two-bedroom, maintenance-free independent living apartments, guest suites, an aquatic center with spa and lap pool, and an enclosed pedestrian link to the health center. The complex features a full range of state-of-the-art facilities and activity spaces, including a theater, a game room, and a variety of dining choices.

Designed by BCT Architects of Baltimore, the 295,544 SF project features two interconnected four-story structures.  The one- and two-bedroom residential units range in size from 737 SF to 1,786 SF.

National Lutheran Communities & Services (NLCS) chose Winchester-based Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. to serve as the general contractor after having successfully partnered together on The Village at Orchard Ridge (Winchester, Va.), The Legacy at North Augusta (Staunton, Va.), and previous projects at The Village at Rockville.
