CHARLESTON, W.Va. – TeMa North America will build its first American manufacturing facility in West Virginia.
Although TeMa has existing sales offices in the United States, the West Virginia plant will be the company’s first manufacturing operation in this country.
The Italian parent company, TeMa Group, is a European leader in the insulation, drainage and geotechnical sector. TeMa has plants in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Romania and Russia.
The company will construct a 42,000 square-foot plant to manufacture insulation and drainage systems for residential, commercial, and industrial use.
“West Virginia is honored to be selected as the site of the first U.S. manufacturing facility for TeMaTechnologies and Materials,” said Secretary of Commerce H. Wood Thrasher. “TeMa’s decision to locate in West Virginia demonstrates that our state has what it takes to compete in the global marketplace. The company, local authorities and state government worked together as a team, resulting in a new manufacturing facility that will strengthen the local economy and bring new jobs that will support West Virginia workers and their families.”
TeMa is globally well known for its continuous research and development of new products. They supply their products to 60 countries, offering solutions for drainage and insulation in both residential and commercial construction.
Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is the general contractor, and the architect is Design Concepts. The design-build project is expected to be completed in August.
