On December 15, there will be a formal building dedication ceremony for The Laurel Center’s new Emergency Shelter and Outreach Center.
The Laurel Center is the only agency that provides emergency shelter to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Winchester, Frederick County and Clarke County.
This new 20,000-square-foot facility offers eight bedrooms which can accommodate 32 beds, a computer lab for resident use, a fenced and secure children’s play area, a teen room, and a large common area for dining and conversation. It also includes offices and meeting rooms for staff, private counseling rooms, large group rooms and space for expansion.
