RICHMOND, VA (July 30, 2015) – Shockey is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Williams as Project Director for the firm’s Richmond office.
With 20 years of professional experience in construction management, Williams offers core expertise in high-rise construction, state public sector projects, and historic renovations.
“We are excited to bring Gary back to Shockey as a key member of our management team. His hands-on project management skills, his knowledge of the Richmond marketplace, and his strong customer relationships will be a great benefit to our clients,” says Jennifer Macks, VP at Shockey.
Williams is a repeat hire for Shockey, where he worked for the Shockey Precast Group from 1998 to 2005. “The opportunity to rejoin the Shockey team and manage the next chapter of their Richmond success story is an honor and a privilege,” said Williams.
For the last decade, he was employed by KBS, Inc. where he worked on a variety of projects including the Social Security Administration Building in Roanoke, numerous buildings for Christchurch School in Middlesex County, and the 684-acre Virginia State Police Public Safety Driver Training Facility in Blackstone.
Most recently, he has worked on several high-rise projects, including a seven-story office building for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a 178-unit eleven-story student housing project at 900 West Grace Street, and the West McMillan Street Apartments in Cincinnati for Gilbane Development Company.
Williams is a LEED™ Accredited Professional and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. His expertise includes BCOM background, contract negotiation, scheduling, subcontractor management, cost control, and quality assurance programs.
Shockey’s Richmond office is located at 1805 East Grace Street in the Shockoe Bottom area. The company has recently been awarded several new jobs in the city, including the renovation of the downtown data center for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a multi-site project for the Richmond Department of Public Works (DPW), and a portion of the Richmond Riverfront Plan.
