Shockey Opens New Office in Richmond

A Virginia Contractor Positions For Growth in Greater Richmond Area.

RICHMOND, Va. (March 9, 2015) — One of Virginia’s oldest construction companies has opened a new office in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom area.

“We’ve been looking to expand our presence in the Richmond area for some time. The Grace Street office is ideal because it positions us near many of our existing colleagues and clients,” said Vice President Jennifer Macks of Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc.

Over the past 10 years, Shockey has established its presence in the Richmond area with high-visibility projects such as GRTC’s award-winning headquarters on Belt Boulevard and the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School on Mosby Street.

According to Project Director Doug Hilemn, who has been managing Shockey’s Richmond operations since 2012, the company has recently been awarded several new jobs, including the renovation of the downtown data center for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Shockey is teamed with Facility Support Inc. for this 8,000 square-foot mission critical project on Bank Street.

“The opening of our new office in Shockoe Bottom area underscores our commitment to the central Virginia market, and how important the City of Richmond has been to us as a client. We believe it’s important to be in the Commonwealth’s capital and have opportunities to interact with our legislators,” said Jeff Boehm, President of Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc.

Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc., based in Winchester, is one of Virginia’s largest general contracting and construction management companies.

Shockey’s Richmond office is located at 1805 East Grace Street, and can be reached via ShockeyBuilds.com and (804) 788-8016.
