New Medical Office Building Across from Jefferson Memorial Hospital rnrnWest Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division broke ground Thursday for a medical office building on South Preston Street in Ranson.rnrnThe 7,200-square-foot building with 16 to 18 exam rooms will be across the street from the main entrance to WVUH-East Jefferson Memorial Hospital.rnrnThe building will house two existing medical practices, WVU Maternity and Women’s Health Center, and University Medical and Surgical Associates. The two practices currently have six physicians and a midwife conducting approximately 9,000 patient visits per year. In the new, larger, facility, 3 or 4 physicians might be added and the number of patient visits might double within several years.rnrnDr. Konrad C. Nau, associate dean for the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Division, said the facility will have ample, modern exam rooms, and several in-office procedure suites will provide minor surgical procedures and biopsies, ultrasound, urodynamic studies and minimally invasive gynecology procedures. “As a healthcare organization
