Dozens of school children, parents and teachers in Montgomery County celebrated the ground breaking of a new school on Friday, April 30th. The future site of the Prices Fork Elementary School is located on the south end of Prices Fork Road, near the current school. rn

The new school is expected to be open for students in the Fall of 2011.rnrnThe project involves construction of a new elementary school on a 20-acre site, including associated play areas, access roads and utilities. rnrnTeachers, parents and students offered input on the design of the 110,000-square-foot elementary school. The architect is Spectrum Design of Roanoke. The contractor is Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. of Winchester.rnrn
